Who We Are

Since its establishment in 2017, Northern-Vision for Development Organization has built a strong basis for community-driven development approaches and is unique in Kenya as a pioneer of community philanthropy and sustainable development. Northern Vision works through strategic and carefully selected partnerships in Kenya, both at the national and community level, and strongly believes in the ability of communities to identify and prioritize their needs and with a little external support, pursue their own solutions to these needs.

Nothern-Vision also recognizes that pro-poor policies are critical to be able to address some of the systemic challenges faced by vulnerable groups, hence the need to push for the development of the necessary policies to support the promotion of a just and fair society, as well as good governance.

Young people from different backgrounds have a huge impact on us and all our activities. They highlight those parts of the society that are broken, so we can help them in all possible ways to regain hope and flourish in life.

Our Approaches

Community Engagement and Organizing

Our model of delivering its mandate is through working with organized community groups, associations etc., as vehicles to scale up desired changes in targeted communities.

Local Philanthropy

Nothern Vision for Development works to encourage the growth and promotion of organized giving for sustainable development in Kenya. The goal is to move communities and the wider Kenyan public from a mindset of depending on external resources, to effective mobilization of in-country resources towards the implementation of their prioritized projects.

Institution Building

Our concept of sustainable community-driven development is pegged on the premise that well-capacitated groups are key instruments in scaling up and sustaining continuous transformative change at the grassroot levels.

Partnerships and Networking

We believes that the challenges of poverty cannot be achieved by one actor hence there is value in working in a collaborative manner with other like-minded organizations in addressing issues that communities continue to face.

Policy Influencing

Policy influencing refers to the different actions taken by organized groups on an issue of concern, to influence decision making or to change a policy that brings about lasting change in the lives of disadvantaged people.

Asset Development

We believe that the challenges of poverty cannot be achieved by one actor hence there is value in working in a collaborative manner with other like-minded organizations in addressing issues that communities continue to face.
